Who We Are

Chris Hogan is the founder and principal of Hogan Strategic Communications LLC, a communications and public affairs consultancy.

Prior to starting his own firm, Chris was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director at BCW, a global communications and public relations firm. Chris has worked in communications, public affairs, and media relations for nearly 20 years, with expertise in advocacy and corporate communications, campaign and narrative development, messaging strategy, reputation and brand management, and crisis, issues, and policy communications.

He has subject matter expertise across a range of industries and issues, including energy, climate change, sustainability, ESG, renewable power, biofuels, agriculture, chemicals, investor relations, and natural resources.

Chris was a legislative intern for Senator Christopher Dodd and began his career in public affairs in 1995 at SmithBucklin, an association management firm. During his career, Chris has had professional stops at Bloomberg BNA, the American Petroleum Institute, the American Gas Association, the International Bottled Water Association, Growth Energy, and the Sugar Association.

He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Northeastern University and an MBA and Master of International Management from The University of Maryland Global Campus. Chris has also received the IOM designation in nonprofit management from the Institute for Organization Management at the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
